Alberta Ingenuity Centre for Machine Learning

Established in 2002, located at the University of Alberta and in collaboration with the University of Calgary, the Alberta Ingenuity Centre for Machine Learning is one of the top centres of its kind in the world, providing enabling information technologies for healthcare, energy and the environment, biotechnology, financial services and education.

The Centre applies the strengths of machine learning research which combines statistics, life sciences and advanced computing to sift through vast sets of information to uncover patterns that allow the Centre to optimize industry processes across a range of functions, including health data management, cancer imaging prediction software, autonomous learning robots, web mining and visualization.

The Centre is partnering with Alberta Health Services to deliver two pilot projects to improve the quality of care for Albertans, while also reducing costs to Albertans.
