John Hepburn

Vice President (Research), University of British Columbia

John Hepburn received his PhD at the University of Toronto, studying under Nobel Laureate John Polanyi, and worked as a professor in chemistry for over 15 years at the University of Waterloo. He earned an international reputation for research in laser spectroscopy and laser chemistry and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada. He serves on numerous boards and is a member of the Scientific Advisory Committee for the Council of Canadian Academies and on the steering committee of the Canada-California Strategic Innovation Partnership.
