Alberta Ingenuity Centre for Integrated Resource Management, Tecterra
Established in 2009, based at the University of Calgary, and partnered with the federally funded Centres of Excellence for Commercialization and Research program, the University of Alberta, and the University of Lethbridge, the Alberta Ingenuity Centre for Integrated Resource Management, TECTERRA, is applying advanced geomatics to industry challenges for a more sustainable future
The first of its kind in the world, the Centre will build on the province’s research excellence and its strong industrial core, to develop new products to cooperatively monitor, forecast and manage Alberta’s rich natural resources. Alberta currently holds one third of the market in resource management industry applications, which is estimated at more than $1 billion and growing rapidly. Alberta’s opportunity in the market is predicted to grow to $7 billion by 2017.
