New centre brings Hitachi’s international R&D expertise and tools to Alberta’s National Institute for Nanotechnology (NINT)
To enhance the research and product development capabilities in nanotechnology in Alberta, Alberta Ingenuity has collaborated with partners from government, academia and private industry to bring the next generation of nanotechnology research equipment to the province.
The Hitachi Electron Microscopy Products Development Centre, expected to open in 2010, will develop nanotechnology-based products, making Alberta a global leader in nano tools and technologies.
The nanoWorks program fosters relationships between industry and academic researchers with the focus of increasing industrial R&D investments and developing market-driven nanotechnology products, and is a key component of the provincial government’s Alberta Nanotechnology Strategy.
