Imagining Science with the Art Gallery of Alberta | Explore the Fear and Promise of Imagining Science

Courtesy of the Artist and Olga Korper GalleryAlberta Ingenuity is proud to present Imagining Science, a unique exhibition project built on a series of conversations and collaborations between internationally recognized artists, scientists, bio-ethicists, lawyers and contemporary philosophers.

Art and science help us to make meaning; they shape our idea of who we are, how we make sense of the world and how we decide on the many ethical issues that confront us. Imagining Science looks at the impact of the rapidly changing world of genetics, bio-technologies and human engineering and the challenges and controversies that come with it.

The exhibition features the work of 10 internationally recognized artists who reflect on this complex conversation between art and science. Their works blur the lines between the scientific and the artistic, engaging us with the fear and promise of their ideas and images while inspiring us to think about how our decisions are formed.

Imagining Science runs through February 1, 2009. For more information please visit the Art Gallery of Alberta’s website.
