Henry Vaux
Professor emeritus, Resource Economics, University of California and Associate Vice President Emeritus for Agriculture and Natural Resources for the University of California system.
Dr. Vaux is currently affiliated with the Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics at the University of California, Berkeley. He chaired the National Research Council committee which assessed the ability of the United States to meet future water resource challenges, and published the report, Confronting the Nation's Water Problems: the Role of Research.
His principal research interests are the economics of water use and water quality. He previously served as Director, University of California Water Resource Center. Prior to joining the University of California, Dr. Vaux worked at the Office of Management and Budget and served on the staff of the National Water Commission. He earned a PhD in economics from the University of Michigan. Dr. Vaux served on the NRC Committee on Western Water Management and the Committee on Ground Water Recharge, and he was chair of the Water Science and Technology Board from 1994 to 2001.
