Key Initiatives

Alberta Ingenuity is building a critical mass in areas of research and innovation important to the province and contributing to the knowledge economy by focusing on the following key initiatives:

• Launching the Ingenuity Accelerator Program
• Developing the Ingenuity Centres for Research and Commercialization with strong industry involvement
• Developing the Alberta Water Research Institute and the Alberta Prion Research Institute to meet Government of Alberta priorities
• Developing programs to support international research linkages
• Supporting the Development Dividend by allocating five per cent of funding of major programs towards the internationalisation of research
• Developing an Industry Chairs Program
• Developing a Research Partnership Program with industry
• Developing the commercial and entrepreneurial skills of technically-trained graduates through the Ingenuity Enterprise Program
• Enhancing its program to attract the best post-doctoral fellows back to Alberta
• Strengthening science culture in Alberta
