On January 1, 2010 Alberta Ingenuity became part of Alberta Innovates - Technology Futures, hto support research, innovation and commercialization within Alberta’s technology-based sectors. It's building on Alberta's already established advantage in platform technologies - like nanotechnology, information communications technologies, and genomics - to enhance the technical capacity within Alberta's high-tech companies. It's facilitating access to the strengths of our key partners that help support commercialization and grow new ventures. It's investing in and attracting research and entrepreneurial talent who can support these priorities.
The organization is built on the successes of the former Alberta Research Council, Alberta Ingenuity, iCORE and nanoAlberta.

Past Presidents
Alberta Ingenuity strengthens Alberta’s economy through greater innovation in science and engineering. By attracting the highest calibre researchers to the province and encouraging them to turn their discoveries into applications for broader use, Alberta is embracing new global opportunities.
To continue to innovate at a rate that meets global demand, we need leaders who know the importance of guiding an organization through untraveled waters; who aren’t afraid to dream big and inspire innovation in all disciplines of science and engineering. This leadership in innovation is meeting industry’s needs for leading research and development and for greater sustainability.
Our Presidents have worked to secure Alberta’s place in the next generation economy. With their guidance, we have been able to push forward toward our goal – we have accomplished a lot, but know there is still more to be done.
Even as we look to the future, we know that our past is what has made us who we are today.
